Apple Store goes offline ahead of 'Unleashed' event
Apple Store is down again ahead of the company's "Unleashed" event, where Apple is expected to launch new MacBook Pro computers.
As is typical, Apple didn't give us any info about the event besides a fancy "warp speed" Apple graphic and an invitation to follow the event online at 10. a.m. PT on Oct 18.
Based on numerous rumors and reports, though, as well as timing of previous Apple events, it's very likely that the company is about to launch new Macs today.
First on the menu are new MacBook Pro laptops, both in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. These new devices will probably run on Apple's new M1X chip, an upgrade to the company's first in-house computer chip, the M1. The new laptops are likely to have more ports, upgraded webcams, and no Touch Bar. Last minute rumors also say the new MacBooks will have an iPhone-like, notch design, though we'll believe that when we see it.
SEE ALSO:What to expect from Apple's October 18 eventApple might also launch an upgraded Mac mini at the event, also featuring the new, M1X chip, as well as more ports and support for more RAM memory.
We might also get the launch date for the upcoming macOS 12 Monterey operating system, which was unveiled at this year's WWDC.
Finally, Apple may also launch new AirPods today, which will inherit a few traits from the AirPods Pro, though that's far less certain than the launch of devices outlined above.
