New Sonos One deal is in direct competition with Apple's HomePod
Shots. Fired.
Sonos will offer a Sonos One bundle deal starting on Friday that includes two of their Alexa-equipped smart speakers for $349, according to 9to5Mac. For those of you keeping track, that's the same price as Apple's HomePod, which goes on sale the exact same day (but will ship in two weeks).

The deal is a $50 discount from the usual price of two speakers for $400. So if you want multi-room capability, Sonos is making that choice real easy for you.
But they're not just banking on this 2-for-1 deal in order to appeal to customers who are perhaps choosing between a Sonos One and a HomePod.
The brand published a blog post on Tuesday entitled "Why Open Matters," extolling its "agnostic" approach to music platform integrations. And soon, according to Sonos, choice in other capabilities, too, such as an integration with Google Home Assistant. Meanwhile, Apple's smart speaker will only work with Apple Music.
